Las Mujeres Sabias

Everyday the city celebrates something. This Sunday the city waved entrance to all theaters to celebrate the end of the season. Christina and I went to see “Las Mujeres Sabias” free of charge. The play was spectacular. The director created a modern interpretation of Molière’s play. The performance incorporated “mucha plastica” or references to popular culture. Clichéd French servants broke out into a techno dance sequence. At one point a translucent screen lowered on to the stage while the main lead played Duck Hunt. I understood most of the dialogue but most of the jokes flew over my head.

Earlier in the day I fell asleep in a chair having a pedicure. My curiosity to explore every corner of this city is most evident in the condition of my feet.  Thankfully it is inexpensive to go to the spa here. I’ll take the risk and generalize that Portenas invest a lot of effort into their appearances. Make up, “burshing”, jewelry, clothes etc matter to women of each class. I felt amazing afterwards and promised to treat myself more often.
